Zodiac and Kayaking Adventure - Duration 6 hours

Octopus Islands Kayaking and Wildlife is a premium, customized adventure that’s close to home and will bring you deep into the heart of the Discovery Islands. On this adventure you will have full access to your own boat Captain, Guide/Naturalist and a certified Kayak Guide.

Your trip begins with a whale and wildlife excursion via zodiac, we then head out to the Octopus Islands where the kayaking adventure begins, while the boat stands by. Travelling by zodiac allows each trip to have its own unique experience and allows us to get to remote kayaking destinations faster.

On the kayak portion of the tour we will make our way through very unique microhabitats and island archipelagos in the Octopus Islands. On location you will enjoy lunch on the beach before embarking on your kayak adventure with your certified guide.

Every tour is different and what wildlife we see on tours varies depending on the seasonal migrations of marine mammals. You may encounter any number of Cetaceans- (Whales, Dolphin, Porpoise), Sea Lions, Seals, Bears, Marine Birds and Raptors (Bald Eagles).

Note: Destinations can vary depending on the movement of wildlife and local weather patterns. There are many beautiful places to explore. To book and inquire contact our partners at Quadra Island Kayaks

Adventure FAQ

We spend roughly 3 hours on the boat looking for wildlife and 3 hours on the kayak portion of the tour. This time allotment can vary depending on wildlife sightings, weather, and the transition to paddling.

We have three double kayaks for this tour.

No problem, this adventure is designed for all levels. You have two guides to assist you with getting in and out of your kayak and the zodiac is always on standby in the event you get too tired on the paddle, we can come pick you up!

There are no washrooms on the boat, however we offer intertidal zone or a bush walk washroom breaks at lunch on the paddle that include toiletries required. Welcome to the Great Outdoors!

The destination is the Octopus Islands, however this can change depending on the weather, whales and wildlife we see along the way. We will have access to the Discovery Islands and can also go into Desolation Sound if whales & wildlife are present there.

Six people maximum.

We depart from Taku Resort, but we will meet at Quadra Island Kayaks (QIK), 615 Taku Rd 30 mins prior to departure.
PLEASE NOTE: parking is limited so please try to carpool, bike or walk over. We are also walking distance from several different accommodations.
